Welcome John Lamson to our Board!

Advocates for the West is pleased to welcome John Lamson, Executive Vice President of the nonprofit PR firm Resource Media, to our Board of Directors!
John is a seasoned communications strategist with 23 years of experience in advocacy, elections and higher education. He manages the senior staff that oversee all of Resource Media’s program work, and partners with the President to steer the organization’s fundraising, finance, HR and operational functions.
Prior to joining Resource Media, John served as an Assistant Dean at Cornell University, managing all communications for the College of Human Ecology and helping to build out the university’s campus-wide communications infrastructure.
Earlier in his career, he spent 10 years as vice president and partner at MacWilliams, Robinson and Partners, a leading advertising and strategy consultancy working with candidates and NGO’s at the local, national and global levels.
John has earned national awards from communications industry peers for his role in the production of dozens of television and radio ads, press strategy and copywriting. After earning a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame, John got his start at Fenton Communications and served as press secretary on political campaigns in the Pacific Northwest. He lives in Boulder, CO with his wife and two boys.
