About the Campaign
Wild Salmon and Steelhead are in a state of collapse.
2017 Snake River wild salmon and steelhead runs are frighteningly low – these precious fish populations are in a “state of collapse.”
The threat is clear – climate change and dams are lethal to fish.
Prolonged hot weather heats the slow-moving water trapped behind dams, causing high water temperatures that kill migrating salmon and steelhead. This year, only 159 Idaho sockeye salmon made it to their Stanley Basin spawning grounds.
For over 15 years, Advocates for the West has fought to protect salmon and steelhead. We were the first group to file suit against Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt for the EPA’s failure to regulate water temperatures.
But we can’t do this alone. We need you to join our fight to bring salmon and steelhead back from the brink of extinction.
YOU CAN HELP SAVE OUR WILD SALMON AND STEELHEAD!
A gracious donor is challenging YOU to make a difference.
Help us raise $20,000 by October 30th and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
