Voices for the West — Pulse on Our Public Lands: Drilling Down on Trump’s Oil & Gas Push

Across the American West, long-standing protections for public lands, cultural resources, and wildlife are under unprecedented pressure. The Trump administration and allies in Congress are pursuing sweeping changes to the laws, regulations, and policies that govern oil and gas development in an effort to “unleash American energy” and advance an “energy dominance” agenda by weakening environmental safeguards and fast-tracking industry approvals.

These regulatory giveaways to the oil and gas industry bear serious consequences for the health and resilience of our public lands and wildlife—including sensitive species such as the iconic sage-grouse—while spurring even more climate pollution. But what legal avenues remain available to challenge them?
