Margaret joined Advocates for the West in September 2025. Margaret received her J.D. and Master of Public Policy from the University of California Berkeley School of Law and Goldman School of Public Policy where she earned certificates of specialization in Environmental Law and Energy and Clean Technology Law.

Before law and public policy school, Margaret worked at the Natural Resources Defense Council, where she contributed to litigation representing communities impacted by environmental injustice. During law school, Margaret worked for Earthjustice, the California Attorney General’s Office, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Prior to joining Advocates for the West, Margaret served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ronald M. Gould of the Ninth Circuit. Margaret is committed to protecting wild places and standing alongside communities to build a just and sustainable future.
